Inspired by true events
Back in my graduation days like any other extrovert
or an ambivert person I use to love to socialize and during one such socializing
event I came across 2 individuals who shared one of their life altering
experience with me so today I’d like to site their experience and try to pen it
through my words. Both of these people were migrants who were living in Delhi
for their studies. They both were a part of an esteemed institution. Like any
other migrant or I’d say a small towner, they liked being in Delhi and while
adapting to the culture of Delhi they started losing themselves because they
got too much involved in their friendships and gradually phased out their
families from their daily routine, like most of us did. All these metropolitan
cities are the pride of our nation and Delhi being the nation’s capital has its
own cultural diversities and rich heritage. Usually the migrants who shift to
any of these metropolitan cities tend to stay there for their growth and for
the standard of living.
Even these two migrants were following the same
track as I mentioned above. They were totally in love with their freedom and
they were enjoying the fact that no one was here to control them and stop them
from doing anything. There primary goal to shift in the city their studies but
they got too occupied in their dates with their so called freedom when one fine
day the bubble busted. They came across a beggar on the road and being kind
they generously offered food to him. While the beggar was having his food they
got into talking with him and had a nerve chilling conversation, while he told
his story they could relate themselves completely to that beggar. Even he was a
migrant previously engrossed in fast moving and fun life of except that the
only difference was that his father passed away while he was in his last year
of graduation. Until then he had became an addict to this modern world and his
independence. He didn’t even realise how much of a major loss he had faced back
then and kept walking on the same track
for years and years whereby his family disowned him and left him to rot with
his own sweet independence.
After running into a person with such an
experience they realized what they’ve been doing till date and in that very
moment they decided to turn their life upside down. They inferred that these
metropolitan cities did provide them with development and growth but at the
cost of their family and peace which is such a big opportunity cost that not
everyone’s willing to pay. Development
and growth tastes sweet but not everything that’s sweet is true so better not
rely upon temporary sweetness rather opt for permanent peace and harmony.
